Mozambique's Anamola party is calling for an independent investigation into the assassination of another of its members, according to CLUB OF MOZAMBIQUE. The outlet reported the demand on Monday, 14 September 2026.
Separate reporting from aimnews.org identifies the victim as one of the witnesses due to testify for opposition figure Mondlane in an upcoming trial. That witness was killed in Morrumbene, according to aimnews.org.
The killing adds to a toll Anamola has been tracking for more than a year. CLUB OF MOZAMBIQUE reports the party says 57 of its members have been killed since August 2025, a figure also carried by aimnews.org, which puts the number at almost 60.
